Michelin – 24h Le Mans , the story continues!

It’s a long story and a mutual fruitful collaboration that is continuing today with the signature of a new partnership contract for at least three seasons (2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021) between the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the Le Mans 24 Hours, the FIA WEC (FIA World Endurance Championship) and Michelin.

Marquez 2017 World Champion …the story

Marc Marquez is the 2017 MotoGP World Champion after taking the third place in today’s Grand Premio de la Comunitat Valenciana.

At 24-years old, Marquez is now the youngest ever rider to win four premier-class World Championship titles and six World Championships over all classes, during a period of only ten years of World Championship racing.

Marquez has now equalled Jim Redman and Geoff Duke’s tally of 6 World Titles in his career.

Bottas storms to pole position in São Paulo

Valtteri Bottas claimed his third career pole position – his first at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace and third of the 2017 season, second and third place for the Scuderia Ferrari drivers. Sebastian Vettel posted a time of 1’08”360 to line up ahead of team-mate Kimi Raikkonen whose best lap was a 1’08”538 on the starting grid for tomorrow’s race.

Sebastian Vettel ” I don’t fear him. I like racing with him”

 

Sebastian Vettel went into the race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez knowing he needed to win and hope Hamilton finished lower than fifth to keep his slim title chances alive.

Sebastian Vettel: “I know the team has been working hard, doing their best, but we didn’t achieve what we wanted to. It’s hard to cross the line realizing that you are not in the fight anymore.

Lewis Hamilton wins the fourth title of his career

Lewis Hamilton wins the fourth title of his career and seals the fourth consecutive Drivers’ Championship for the Silver Arrows.

After an accident in the first lap, Lewis finished today’s race in P9.

Verstappen dominated the race to score a resounding win, but all eyes were inevitably on the two title protagonists after they touched on the opening lap and the story of how Hamilton recovered from last place to win his fourth world championship overshadowed the Dutchman’s greatest drive.

Fantastic 1-2 victory for Ducati at Sepang

The two Ducati Team riders produced an outstanding performance today at the Sepang International Circuit, with Andrea Dovizioso winning the Shell Malaysia Grand Prix, held on a wet track, ahead of his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo. With this victory, his sixth of the season, Dovizioso keeps the title battle alive and at this point it will go down to the final round of the season at Valencia from 10-12 November.

Sebastian Vettel clinches Mexico pole

 Sebastian secured him his fourth pole position this year, the fifth for Scuderia Ferrari in 2017. The fact that they are more or less equally spread along the season shows that the team has not lost its focus and it’s determined to fight to the very end. Unfortunately, Kimi, did not manage to put together a perfect lap of the 4.3 Km Mexican track and ended up fifth best.
