Sebastien Buemi is the third Red Bull F1 driver and for the first time in his career will drive at 24 H Le Mans.
Our Chief Editor Diego Fioraldi has met Sebastien during the F1 Grand Prix in Barcelona and this is Buemi's point on new adventure in first endurance race at Le Mans:
It was nice to discover more about the endurance racing environment. I have been in the Le Mans driving simulator so I had an idea of what to expect but the reality is always a bit more complex. I drove in Formula 1 as my team mates but they know the track very well. I am happy to have been back with the TS030 HYBRID and I have covered a lot of kilometers. I am now more used to the driving of a LMP1. We have still some parameters to set, but all the team is working hard and we move on in a good way. Team spirit is good. My target is to test the track in first testing and free practice sessions. Le Mans is very long track with many different curve. I know that it will be very hard to drive in the dark night for many hours and for me is the first time there! All people said me that will be very crowd long all the track and this is very nice for the show. I hope to make good first test and good practices. In lastest test days we drove for more 30 H and I'm very confident for the race in Le Mans!I did some long stints and learned about new aspects of endurance racing, like driving at night, managing fuel consumption and adapting my driving style in the car. Day by day, test after test, we make good progress. The car has really been enhanced since our last test, especially on the downforce. We also improve some details which will be crucial in a race like Le Mans
