Lewis took his 78th career victory today – his fifth of the 2019 season and his seventh at the Canadian Grand Prix. Vettel had led the race from pole position, absorbing the pressure from championship rival Lewis Hamilton up until lap 48, when he lost the rear, skated off across the grass and re-joined into the path of Hamilton.
It’s a long story and a mutual fruitful collaboration that is continuing today with the signature of a new partnership contract for at least three seasons (2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021) between the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the Le Mans 24 Hours, the FIA WEC (FIA World Endurance Championship) and Michelin.
