Sebastian Vettel went into the race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez knowing he needed to win and hope Hamilton finished lower than fifth to keep his slim title chances alive.

Sebastian Vettel: “I know the team has been working hard, doing their best, but we didn’t achieve what we wanted to. It’s hard to cross the line realizing that you are not in the fight anymore.

Lewis Hamilton wins the fourth title of his career

Lewis Hamilton wins the fourth title of his career and seals the fourth consecutive Drivers’ Championship for the Silver Arrows.

After an accident in the first lap, Lewis finished today’s race in P9.

Verstappen dominated the race to score a resounding win, but all eyes were inevitably on the two title protagonists after they touched on the opening lap and the story of how Hamilton recovered from last place to win his fourth world championship overshadowed the Dutchman’s greatest drive.

Tasfe of F1 food in Mexico

In 2015, the pinnacle of motorsport returned Mexico after a 23 year absence and quickly became the go-to sporting event within Mexico. With a contract from 2015 to 2019, the newly renovated , world-class Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez plays host to the return of F1ESTA to the country.

In its first two editions (2015 and 2016), more than 375,000 fans attended the race, making Mexico the second best attended Grand Prix worldwide (after Great Britain).
